About Me
¡Hola! My name is Vivian Fong, and I'm a proud Panamanian artist and entrepreneur living in Olney, Maryland since 2013. Born and raised in Panama, I brought a piece of my homeland to the United States, enriching its cultural tapestry through vibrant, handcrafted fashion and accessories that celebrate our Latin American heritage.
My creative journey began at age 9 when I learned the art of making traditional Panamanian hair accessories, known as tembleques. What started as a childhood passion evolved into a lifelong mission to share the beauty of Panamanian and Latina traditions with the world. Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Multinational Business and a Master's in Clothing, Textiles, and Merchandising, I've blended artistry with business to create something truly special.
In 2017, I opened my first shop, "Panamanian Crafts" on Etsy, serving thousands of customers and bringing the joy of Panama's folkloric beauty to households across the USA. In 2022, I expanded my mission with the launch of Vivian Fong Designs—a brand dedicated to empowering Latinas in the U.S. to embrace their roots with pride. From traditional dresses to statement accessories, every item reflects love, identity, and cultural heritage.
While I work full-time as a Senior Project Manager in healthcare, my passion for cultural preservation continues to guide my heart and business. I personally curate every product and collaborate directly with artisans from across Latin America—including Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia, and more—to ensure authenticity and quality.
