Handmade white pearl tembleque beaded flowers on traditional pins. Tembleques are traditional Panamanian accessories used with folkloric dresses (la pollera).

These tembleques are made by making traditional beaded flower tembleques and mounting them on a traditional pin. Materials used include white pearls and iridescent beads (tornasol).

They are all fixed to the same pin. This piece is called tapamoños and it is normally used to cover the hair buns of the empolleradas (pollera-wearing ladies).

When you purchase this item you get two (2) separate tapamoños that are identical to each other.

Crafted in collaboration with artisans from Latin America, including Colombia, Puerto Rico, Panama, Nicaragua, and Maryland, our designs by VivianFongDesigns and PanamanianCrafts celebrate the rich traditions of our multicultural community. Together, we work to preserve the diversity of Hispanic culture and make cultural items more accessible to all.
